30th Anniversary Video

The Alpha Delta Pi Foundation sent out an email today with the information below. We wanted to make sure all our NashvilleADPiAlums got to see it!

The Alpha Delta Pi Foundation’s 30th Anniversary Video: Our Donors

A few weeks ago, Dawn Victor-Herring, president of our Board of Trustees, wrote to you about the Alpha Delta Pi Foundation’s 30th anniversary.  She told you that over the past 30 years, we’ve grown into a robust organization that provides resources that benefit all of our collegiate and alumnae members.  She also invited you to view a special video about our history.

Today, we are excited to unveil the second video in our anniversary series.  We thought you might like to hear firsthand why our donors include the Foundation as a philanthropic priority in their personal giving.

Our success is made possible through the generosity of sisters like you.  If you have already given this fiscal year, we thank you.  If not, we hope you will join the thousands of sisters who step forward each year and support our Foundation with gifts that enable more women to experience the value of Alpha Delta Pi as a way of life.

Support our sisters at Texas A&M (Zeta Lambda) and Tulane (Epsilon Colony)

Hello Nashville ADPi Sisters!

The Zeta Lambda (Texas A&M University) Alumnae Group is selling t-shirts as a fundraiser for ZL’s Continuous Open Recruitment efforts! Please consider buying one (or more!) and helping our chapter continue to recruit the first and the finest!

The ordering link is below and the BLUE shirts are the ones we are using for fundraising. The WHITE ones are just there if you love it!  This shirt was made so that all three groups, Alphas, Deltas, and Pis can wear it and represent how our sisterhood is not just four years, but for life.

If you don’t want to purchase a shirt for yourself, there is an option to donate a shirt to a sister at Tulane University! They are recolonizing the Epsilon Chapter there right now. How nice would it be to buy them a shirt to show them that our sisterhood is amazing and we are excited for them to be a part of it?!

We Live For Each Other

Zeta Lambda Alumnae

 Thank you for your support!

Online ordering ends on Saturday, September 21st at 5pm CT.

The shirts are only $16.50 plus $3 shipping.

Betty Brock is Honored by the Tennessee Society of Association Executives

photoThe Tennessee Society of Association Executives (TNSAE) announced the winners of its annual Awards of Excellence during a luncheon on July 19. Betty Brock was the recipient of the Association Executive of the Year, which recognizes a lifetime contribution to the profession of association management, through achievement with the individual’s own association, as well as service to TNSAE and other professional, civic and community organizations. Below are more details about this Nashville ADPi Alumnae Association member.  Violets to Sister Betty!

Winchester-native, Betty Brock, Tennessee Fuel & Convenience Store Association, was named Association Executive of the Year. The Association Executive of the Year is the highest recognition given by the Tennessee Society of Association Executives. Respected leaders of their own associations, recipients are women and men who contribute their time and expertise to other voluntary membership organizations and play an active role in civic and community affairs. They exemplify the very best in association management, continually bringing credit to the profession and to the entire association community.

Betty Brock, this year’s TNSAE Association Executive of the Year is a most appropriate selection in this year of the organization’s 50th Anniversary, as she has been an integral part of TNSAE’s life, having served as the first part-time and first full-time executive director of the Tennessee Society of Association Executives.

At TNSAE, Betty instituted many of the TNSAE programs we still enjoy today, including the Tradeshow and awards of excellence program. She successfully passed the CAE exam and mentored countless CAE candidates. When she left the association in 2003, she left it in a strong financial position, having increased association reserves by 90% during her tenure.

In the years since, Betty has continued to be involved in TNSAE, serving on the awards committee, as Tradeshow Committee co-chair and this year as chair of the 50th Anniversary Committee.

As a 33 year association management veteran, Betty has worked for several other associations, including the Tennessee Trial Lawyers Association, the Southeastern Equipment Dealers Association, the Alpaca Owners and Breeders Association and for the past four years, the Tennessee Fuel and Convenience Store Association.

Betty has volunteered for many organizations, including the Ronald McDonald House, OUR Kids, Nashville Young Leaders Council and the Nashville Human Association, and is a member of the Alpha Delta Pi Sorority, which has recognized her for her service.

Congratulations, Betty Brock!

New Digital Archives Unveiled

Alpha Delta Pi has long cherished its history as the first secret society for college women. Our mission, “Established in 1851, Alpha Delta Pi is committed to sisterhood, values and ethics, high academic standards and social responsibility”, is documented through the years in The Adelphean magazine and through our histories. This history is now made available for every collegian and alumnae member to access through the newly unveiled digital archives funded with a grant by the Alpha Delta Pi Foundation.

Awards from Grand Convention 2013

We were so excited after Leadership Conference last summer when we won the Diamond-4-Point Award. Our President, Katie, just got back from Grand Convention 2013 in Dallas, TX with even better news!!

This biennium, the Nashville Alumnae Association won the Collumnae Award for our work with Zeta Rho (Vanderbilt University) and the Alumnae Achievement Award, which includes a donation by Alpha Delta Pi to the Clasped Hands Fund of the Foundation in honor of our association!

A huge bunch of violets to the 2011-12 and 2012-13 Executive Board members. Their planning plus our membership’s participation and enthusiasm are the reason for our success! If you would like to view more Convention photos, check out #ADPiDallas on Instagram and other social media sites.
