Our very successful ADPi Mentoring Program will begin again in September. Bev Sledge has taken over the position of Mentoring Chair and is asking ADPi alumnae to help mentor the Vanderbilt Zeta Rho seniors. This is open to all area alums, whether they are active with the Nashville Area Alumnae Association or not. We need to enlist our Mentors now in order to gather their individual information prior to the students returning in August.
Partners will be matched based on same (or related) career field/interest or major. When that isn’t possible, the match will be based on interests or hobbies. Regardless, it’s a great opportunity to meet another ADPi sister! As you get to know one another, advice, information, and insight is shared that may help the collegian sister as she prepares to transition from college life to the real world. And as she prepares to become an alumna sister of Alpha Delta Pi!
The amount of time you spend together is strictly up to you. We all have busy schedules! Some mentoring partners have lunch, dinner, or coffee together a couple of times during the year and mainly communicate by email. There will be a “Meet your Mentor” cookout in October and you will see each other in April at the Nashville Alpha Delta Pi Alumnae Association hosted Jewel Degree ceremony and reception. The Mentor Program is a great way to show these young women they are ADPi sisters for a lifetime.
